sorry for having bothered you with that irrelevant issue.
I had deliberately disabled the loading of the IPv6 module in modprobe.
Aiccu worked for me until the day when sixxs cancelled my account
because I have no backup mx for my email address. I should have also
disabled the aiccu initscri
