Hello,
Just to follow up with the Orion guys, you can bring an ix2-200 NAS up to
date with the latest debian.
The latest Squeeze installer do not seem to support this box. I tried with
the various flavor of Openrd but the network H/W is not detected.
So I went back to install the an old distribut
Hello,
I am running debian on an Openrd-RD base board as a NAS with 2 SATA disks
attached.
It is running the Jessie armel distribution.
I was hit by the problem with the issue with the
Linux-image-3.12-1-kirkwood on the QNAP and I was able to recover using the
method mentioned in the thread.

Hello,
Just as a warning, it seems that the OPENRD box is also affected by the
same issue.
I was able to recover using the install images at
http://d-i.debian.org/daily-images/armel/daily/kirkwood/netboot/marvell/openrd/to
restart the box (put the images on a USB key, then start the
installer)

Hello,
I tried to re-install debian on an internal 2.5" drive but it seems
the installer partition the drive using a GPT partition with type "ee"
If I start the Debian installation which is on the external SATA
drive, it works and it can see the data on the internal 2.5" drive.

Hello,
Ok it works a lot better with :
setenv bootcmd_sata 'ide reset;ext2load ide 1:1 0x080
/uInitrd;ext2load ide 1:1 0x40 /uImage;bootm 0x40 0x80'
run bootcmd_sata
The bootm need the initrd address too.

Hello,
I am familiar with Debian, but a bit inexperienced on debian ARM ...
I got a Open-RD Client (the one with the nice aluminium box) for
chrismas and I was able to install debian on the Open-Rd + E-Sata
disk connected to it but now I am unable to boot into this debian
installation.
