I have a server that needs to stay PCIDSS compliant and it is complaining
that apache 2.4.10 is running... When is an update going to be
available... Do I have to compile my own Apache version? Seems odd that
stability is favored over security... Please advise.

began choosing the wrong DirectoryIndex files to serve. I have a
config snippet in /etc/apache2/conf.d/mod_dir that orders them like
this:

It's fixed in the upstream Subversion repository. The attached patch is
a port of the relevant commits in upstream svn.
