my configuration: Debian Etch amd64, apache2, openldap, all of
them are from package, not from source.
I would like to authenticate the users when them want to access a
directory. Here is the relevant part of apache config:

A default installation of apache2 on etch (apt-get install apache2),
does not create the cgi-bin directory /usr/lib/cgi-bin.
As former apache2-common packages shipped this directory I'm filing the
bug against apache2.2-common.
