If you dist-upgraded yesterday you might have got a big grub snafu hence no boot. I had to use a USB stick install image in Rescue mode to dist-upgrade again today (inc. new versions of grub-common and grub-pc) and in same Rescue session rewrite GRUB on the MBR. HTH Norv > do you has tried to

I have got this thing bad, it blocked my upgrades completely in sid, I tried to remove dash and i got bash removed instead, i got into a chroot via rescue mode with the installer and with placing emergency copies of the files from the bash deb onto my system. however I am stumped what to do to work
