Hi, Yes that fix allowed me to cat the entire perl INSTALL file and hear
it from beginning to end. Is this fix possible to add to the normal
upstream version? Nick Gawronski

Ok, so that's a problem with espeak-ng refusing too much text at the
same time. I had a look and implemented something. Could you try to
install

Hi, Yes it always stops at that section talking about dynamic loading
but if I use less or more I am able to read past that portion of the
file. I just tried it again and yes I keep getting the same results.

Is it always stopping there?

Hi, Yes I am using the latest Bullseye version from your repository. Is
there a way to cat a file or run a program before catting the file so
that the line numbers can be written? The file stops speaking after the
text perl itself under the section dynamic loading. When I ran nano -w

Hi, In the Bullseye packages of espeakup and espeak-ng with the english
voice if you download the perl sources package and cat the INSTALL file
the file stops speaking some of the way down. I am not sure how far
from the end of the file it stops speaking but if I review the screen

I can propose the fix for stable, yes. I will just wait for it to
migrate to testing for some time, to watch for any unwanted side effect.

Hi, As I am running stable currently will these packages be entered into
the next point release as looking at upgrading just those packages on my
system like espeak and espeak-ng and the data packages for both and
espeakup other main system packages will be upgraded and I am not sure

Hi, Yes I am using the english voices and yes after the speech stops
prematurely like in the middle of a passage of text and I wish to review
the screen I find that I have to press read previous or next line a lot
of times with no speech before speech returns. Nick Gawronski

Hi, If I am using the default espeak voice and cat the GPL version 3 the
document will usually read most of the way down then just stop
speaking. If I use the review keys to review the text I have to press
them a lot before speech comes back. When the system is doing very long
processes I get

You just add it in a new line in the same section.

Hi, In the service section there are lots of lines including an exec
line that points to the espeakup binary. Do I add the nice value to
that same line or somewhere else? I just don't want to lose speech
totally if I put the nice portion in the wrong place. Nick Gawronski

In the [Service] section.

Hi, Yes it is both choppy speech and speakup reviewing commands being
very slow to respond and yes I get the freezing of speech if lots of
text is sent to the espeakup process like when catting a long document.
Where in the service do I need to add the nice value? Nick Gawronski

Hi, I am often doing testing of software like Android building and find
that speech will stop during one of the processor heavy building
processes. What I would like to be able to do is to change espeakup and
other processes so they run with the highest niceness and scheduling so
that if a nor
