Yes it is part of the main board. The USB Soundcard is recognized by Vinux booted from a USB flash drive. --

I have a 64 bit Dell PC with a sound card that is not working, so I am using a USB sound card instead. I want to install Debian using the accessible text installation process, but the net install ISO evidently is trying to use the bad sound card. Is there a way to change to the USB sound card
