I do not know about debian, but ubuntu has the correct ethernet driver at
least from 7.10.
You can also start using a live ubuntu

well, unfortunately the Debian version for the Eee doesn't have Brltty
or any accessibility software, so you can forget it really. The
installer for the "normal" Debian doesn't recognice the network
interfaces of the Eee, so you can only perform a minimum installation.

Was considering purchasing an EEE PC with the goal of installing Sid on
it. Went to the Debian Wiki, and I do see that they have a specific
customized version of Debian for use on it. However, since the EEE PC
does not have any serial port, which would be the easiest way to install
Debian on

hey people,
has soneone tried thre more recent cd-image with usb-displays?
I noticed that the recent cd-images have the accessibility-stuff in them
again.
Wonder if the usb-stuff would work with a kernel 2.6 when there's not uet
3.5 or 3.6 version of brltty on the image.
