Ok, I think I'll move onto testing as I'm interested in newer Gnome versions
such as 2.6. I've changed all references in my sources.list from stable to

apt-get install gnome
works on my unstable box. Gnome 2.6 is the version in unstable. I
believe it is also now the version in testing also. If you want to
