I was wondering if I could find out why the edbrowse package isn’t in stable?
Forgive me if this is an obvious question, I’m just wondering if there's record
somewhere of why it was removed. It’s in testing and unstable and oldstable,
so… :)

I just wanted to thank you guys for the superb job you’ve done with the
implementation of software speech during installation. I was able to install
from the Netinst CD onto my macbook Pro, which I wasn’t expecting to be
accessible, let alone almost seamless.

You might also want to look into a package named asoundconf. This helps
selecting non-default cards, among other things.

I suggest that one way to ensure a sane configuration of speech-dispatcher
in .speech-dispatcher is to run spd-conf from the shell.
The configuration file actually needs to be in .speech-dispatcher/conf,
which that script will take care of for you among other things.
