Hi, I am able to use alsamixer to change the volume when espeakup is
running and also use the speakup keys to change the speech volume. I
prefer to have the laptop master and PCM set at %100 then change volume
controls per application as needed. The volume should be at a highor

Yes, it is possible. See https://wiki.debian.org/accessibility where is
documented how to enable accessibility manually. Of course, the
installer probably cannot become accessible, it requires a specific
action; but the desktop can if based on GTK or recent KDE (to be
