I'm not quite sure what you mean :) I think thats the same issue, Ali
described today in another thread. Maybe it is because we are using
papenmeir Displays?
btw. after installing the System and the first reboot the Braille
device works fine. It's only in the installer..

I am using a Papenmeier Braillex EL 40 P that is connected ot a serial
port. I downloaded tie netinstall for AMD64 and startet BRLTTY from
the boot prompt like this:
brltty=pm,ttyS0,de
BRLTTY seams to be started, but there is no braille output on the
braille display. When I turn power off a
sometimes brltty starts and stop itself
i can boot fine but when the boot is finished brltty have killed itself
i can reconnect my display and restart brltty but it work only in textmode

The Wheezy installer have a very nice option to get the installer to
speak, and if this is enabled the configuration is passed on to Gnome to
continue the load speaking experi
