It would be a very simple matter to get the live CDs to have speech at boot. The Squeeze live CD already has the Speakup modules, so I'm assuming that Wheezy does as well. I haven't used the Wheezy live CD, but with Squeeze, it doesn't have the espeak and espeakup packages. Since Squeeze stil

grml had or has boot line parameters that can be used to test the volume of a sound card before installation ever starts. If I remember correctly it was the first and only accessible version of Linux to offer such additional help. If the speech is a problem after installation, that's a differ
