1) even with expert typed on boot prompt when errors happen on disk drive detection it's impossible to break out of dialog and get to menu interface. That's why no debug log will be produced. 2) Sata drives are not detected and computer does much banging as it fails to detect an already running

Thanks for the info about non-read spinning of cdrom drives, a long time ago when I was going through a win98se reinstall nightmare repeatedly I managed reinstalls by listening for the spinning of the cd to stop completely before trying the next step on my braille notes. It's a desperate techn
