I've heard that various Mac OS drivers (network mostly) can trip up the
Penguin booter whilst it's starting. I encounter this error with 7.6.1 . Try
booting into Mac OS with extensions off (start up w/ shift key), then using
the Penguin loader.

"mac53c9x=1" shuts off the external SCSI, thus avoiding the crash. The new
kernel should be be able to see the external bus. You'll have to mount your
hd internally for the initial part of the installation process :(

The modules must be unpacked in the Linux root partition, not in the Mac

I am having trouble installing linux on my Quadra 950.
I am attempting to install the 2.2.23 kernel, as it
