week to confirm this.
I don't particularly feel like backporting those fixes to 2.6.17, especially
as the etch kernel target is 2.6.18, but others may volunteer to do it, or i
may do it if i find some time.

Bastian blank added code to select the exact gcc version per arch. The idea
was not to build the kernel with 4.0 or 4.1, while the modules where built
with something else abi-incompatible.
So, if you really like, you can set the gcc thingy to gcc-2.95 or gcc-3.4 or
something,
produce the
compressed vmlinuz-* kernel, and dding it to a prep partition).

kernel in sarge is known to work, altough d-i has a few

There are no 2.4.27 generic powerpc kernels in etch/sid anymore, or there
should not be.

ss strong) issue is that you
need macos distribution from people.d.o, but I don't know of any such reason. I think

ctually, we could simply make an exception for miboot and get it into the
archive, i think it is no worse than other cases (like amiboot, which is
linked to parts of amigaos, and thus non-free), and we do distribute those (or
at least used to distribute those in the woody times).
