Squirrel mail has a plug in for quota usage. Has anyone successfully
installed this to work with dbmail?

Check your apache error log. This could also be something like an open_basedir restriction or a faulty
include_path. And check bugs.debian.org/squirrelmail if this is a known issue.
Consider installing squirrelmail from sarge/testing instead of woody.

DBMail seemed to work with the type set to 'Courier' or 'UW', but it was
faster when set to 'Other'
Has anyone else noticed this? What's the difference?

Well, you pretty much just use it with the "Other" type IMAP server, and it
works like a charm...
It seems to also work well with "Courier"
