Hi,
The difference is in brightness, when I watch the image in darkroom and anywhere
else, even in lighttable. It is so visible in shadows and highlights, that any
serious work in Darktable is impossible.

already have written some test code that reads cube files and applies them.

When in darkroom, after pasting a history stack onto current image, masks are
copied but not activated. One have to leave the image and enter it again to make
them work.
