Dear Mica
After updating to 3.0.2, via the repos shared earlier, things seem to be
normal
I however had to "completely remove" darktable and then re-install. And
also had to delete a bulk of .xmp files on both the SD card and the on
board drive - otherwise Darktable was still picking up incorrect
This was the only "repository" I could find
am going ahead with this and will get back on the results

so will try and add the Darktable PPA and see if this fixes the issue
