Linux exists in many flavours. Ubuntu is not the only one.
I suppose the Ubuntu maintainer has other things to do for the moment...
There is one MAC release (BTW the guys who are using MAC has been
complaining a long time not having 2.4.0)

Thanks so much for the latest 2.4.1 release, which I am enjoying on my
Mac book and hoping to see it in the ubuntu PPA's soon. As a small
comment, I think it is pretty amazing that a new version of Darktable is
released for Windows and Mac BEFORE it reaches the ubuntu release and
unstable PPA's.
