There is an automatically generated backup of the db(s) in ~/.config/darktable named data.db-pre-xxx respectively library.db-pre-xxx if you move from 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 for example. I'm not sure if this automatism also works between master versions, but it could be worth to look for the backup file

Hello I can confirm after today upgrade to current git master and update of the database. Previous dt version was two days old git master. Now no images can be seen in all collections. Mint 19.3 x64 Mate edition. P.S. I'm a fool who hasn't back-up my database before upgrading. With respect, Ale
