i have some packeges installed, but i have lost their .bz2 files...
now i want to retrieve all packages because I would like to put them on a
CD-RW!
--> setup.exe knows what packages i have alreay installed and don't download
them...

i'm using gethostname in a multithreaded code ando sometimes i get error. i
think it's not a bug of my code (and i post it) because it does not happed
always, but sometimes.
maybe gethostname() thread-unsafe?

I have a little c++ code that do not run in Cygwin (but in Linux yes)
because
g++ says 'string' not defined.
string is a variable type as I see in the code:
string chip::prepare( string s )
what is the Linux-like definition? and how I add that to the code to go on

Setup tries
I have done this type of installation many times since now, so read
carefully.
Be prepared to download 420+ MB.
To download all of cygwin, without installing it:
- Download and start setup.exe
- "Download Source" screen: select "Download from internet"
- "Local packages directory" screen: select
