Installing w/o setup.ini

I am attempting to install Cygwin from a CD-ROM containing downloaded Cygwin files (src and bin) but which does not have a setup.ini/setup.hint. I do not have a Cygwin/Unix enabled computer or access to the net and can't use, e.g., Polley Christopher W. (8 Nov 2002) script to generate a .ini fil

'cygpath -d' returns a Dos path. If you are executing in a Cygwin shell you should retrieve a Unix path. Try: cygpath -u However, to be generic (your question) you have to give cygpath the path to the Desktop - which was your original question. In Win200x, WinXP, and I think WinNT, the deskto

As near everyone in the know knew, it all seems to work fine. I've done a configure and make and executed the generated setup.exe once (thanks Dan). However, there was an error detected during execution which caused the program to abort. My next step is to (try to) make the code with debugging o
