1.7.9: Installing error: fonts and X-start-menu-icons

I checked the FAQs, searched the list archives as best I could, and Googled several combinations of the messages I received and could not find anything. I did find references to some of the symptoms I describe, but could not find any resolution to the issues. This is a clean install of Cygwin
