I am looking for a tool to operate programs that are already running on
Windows, from a script / program.
I would like to have a script / program that will be run before I leave the
office, and that will instruct outlook to synchronize and then shutdown, and
after that "hibernate" the computer.
After upgrading to the latest cygwin DLL, the command "ps -W" (or
"ps --windows") returns the same list as "ps", i.e. - no Windows native
processes are displayed.
Is it a known bug?

which ps:
/usr/bin/ps (but there is only /usr/bin/ps.exe, no /usr/bin/ps)
"/usr/bin/ps -W" - the same results (only the processes that run "cygwin"
commands - tcsh and ps).
I am using Win2K SP4, in case it makes a difference.
Thanks

The entire cygwin, or only specific packages? (I tried re-installing the
cygwin package only, and it does not help)

on my emachine e525 W7 home premium I downloaded/installed per the
gatech http mirror.
accepting all install defaults I ended up with two desktop icons.
(A) the cygwin logo named cygwin. I clicked on it and got (1) 2-3
sample/suggest command lines, (2) my user id, (3) the prompt. I didn't
know
therwise I
certainly missed it.
btw, I'm no UNIX guru but I've done a lot of simpler Open Server work.
Thanks again; and soon I reckon I'll be up to the ls in search of my executable!
