Hi,
I'm running cron through cygwin, using ssmtp.exe as the sendmail
replacement. It seems that none of cron's e-mails are getting through,
because my SMTP server rejects "root (Cron Daemon)" as a valid From address
in the outgoing e-mail.
Is there any way of changing this?
Thanks,
Rob.
We seem to be getting a lot of messages along the lines of
"I ran xyz and it did nothing." The typical response is something
like "if you echo $? it is probably 53 which indicates a missing
DLL." This usually gives rise to a further email asking where

Add 'smbntsec' to your global CYGWIN environment variable or to your
service settings (in the registry) for crond and restart crond.

I'm trying to install Cygwin 1.5.24-2 using setup.exe and a complete
package set downloaded as of 09 November 2007. I am executing the
setup program with the following arguments (where %CD% is the current
directory):
setup -d -L -l "%CD%\localpkgs" -R %SystemDrive%\cygwin

When adding instrumenting to -mno-cygwin compiled programs (using

I think Larry might have been a little quick on the trigger to suggest
smbntsec, as I don't see how

Not at all, that just means that the share has read (but not write)
permissions by the unauthenticated guest user.

Ok, here's another chance. I'd been having this problem too, which was
fixed by deleting the bash.lst.gz. I've attached it.
