I'm just test building the gcc sources in a windows xp/cygwin
environment, below is the output of cygcheck.exe -c -s -r.
I'm astonished of the time it takes to bootstrap/build gcc-3.1 and run
the testsuite on this windows xp/cygwin system, with 1.8 GHz proc and
1GB mem, compared to sparc32/

What, specificly, are the cygwin people waiting for before releasing a
gcc 3.x build? release of gcc 3.1?
What particularly about the current "official, stable, release" build of
gcc 3.x (i think its 3.0.something) from gnu is stopping said build from
being ported to cygwin?

Do you know something I don't. As far as I know, there is no such
things as gcc-3.1. gcc-3.1 is under release testing as we speak,
and has not officially been released yet...I have built it under Cygwin
a number of times myself. The latest "official" release of gcc is
gcc-3.0.4.

I don't think I know something you don't... I am test compiling gcc from
CVS, both the 3.1 branch as well as trunk a.k.a. 3.2 right now. It also
happens that java/libjava/libgcj is coming along, at least in the trunk
and it might show up in a 3.1.1 release. I'd guess a 3.1 release is due
in a week

When I run setup and try to reinstall postgresql packgage (from local
directory, of cource), $SUBJ gives me a selection between two versions -
7.2.1-1 or 7.2-2

One thing that I think would be nice is if the URL scheme were omitted from
the URL-encoded directory name of the download cache directory. The reason
