Hi,
I use ksh as /bin/sh bcoz pdksh is far more performant than bash

Will go for (1).
The explicit use of init-config is mentioned in the

Dear Cygwin users,
I've installed cygwin unter Windows XP pro with sysvinit scripts. I'm
trying to run xinetd as a service. In the MS Event viewer, I get the
following error messages:
Error parsing attribute server - DISABLING SERVICE
This message is generated at Windows boot time.
Hi all,
Happy New Year!!
I've got the sysvinit running as a service under the LocalSystem (SYSTEM)
account on Win2k with no ntsec (FAT, no NTFS). I would like to be able to
leave it running as SYSTEM but be able to telinit 3 & start/stop spawned
daemons from normal user/Administrator
This is a rebuild for 1.5.X Cygwin kernel, changed directory structure
to follow
new Cygwin FHS.

The Cygwin SysVInit package include the pidof(8) manpage, but no such
command exists. /sbin/pidof should be a symbolic link to
/sbin/killall5

New cygwin sysvinit package available for download. Init is the parent
of all unix processes. Its primary role is to create processes from a
script stored in the file /etc/inittab (see inittab(5)). This file
usually has entries which cause init to spawn gettys on each line that

Hi..
is there a 'sysvinit' package for cygwin? I'm only interested in being able
to switch consoles using alt-f1 to 6, I understand the program 'init' is
the one that manages that. Is there at least a 'clon' of that for cygwin?
Thanks..
