I installed bc package with setup.exe and I'm in hog heaven.
Thanks for quick responses - add in effusive appreciation
for cygwin etc. etc. "Let mortals rejoice" etc. etc.

Lew,
It is moot now because Chris Faylor has incorporated the bc/dc package into
the Cygwin distribution, but the file I retrieved from the site you
mentioned was intact, at least as far as getting a clean listing from "tar
jtvf bc-7.1.tar.bz2".

I can't find bc or dc in the setup catalogue, nor

I found a site, http://lassauge.free.fr/cygwin/en_cygwin.htm
that has a bc package, ( which I believe contains dc ), but
I don't know how to download it. When I click on "download"
it just displays
Lew,
Presumably the server is either supplying a generic MIME type or none at
all or your browser does not recognize that type, all of which may stem
from the as-yet still relatively uncommon bzip2 compression format and the
equally uncommon .bz2 suffix.
