Well, I made another big step in figuring this one out: First, I discovered that "/usr/i686-pc-cygwin/as.exe" is only 26 bytes in size, and "/usr/bin/zipinfo.exe" is only 20 bytes in size. I thought that was odd, so I reinstalled the "unzip" package stored my hard drive, and then ran "zipinfo".

Well, I think I just made a giant step in the solving of this problem, but I still can't figure out what makes certain executables spit out "Permission Denied" when run. As it turns out, if you'll notice in the makefile output of my recent submission, the makefile makes use of /usr/i686-pc-cy
