That can happen either a) you have $DISPLAY set but you aren't running
an X11 server or b) you are running an X11 server but $DISPLAY is not

Sorry I have completely deleted the 21.2-13.
So I cannot and do not want to test any longer because 22.1 works without
problem.

Perhaps the maintainer forgot to fly over to Japan and test it on your PC?
Maybe next time you could ship your PC over to him air freight for testing.
