Hello, I'm trying to compile gettext on cygwin, but I'm
getting an undefined reference error, could anyone help?? I'm running
configure without shared library, as with it I was getting another
undefined error, then I'm stuck here

yes, I do have mingw-runtime and mingw-gcc installed, but when I try
to remove them, the cygwin setup installs then again as required
packages for gcc.
Is there a way to use gcc wihtout them?

take a look on what you have in your /etc/hosts.deny
I had the same problem, and it had
ALL:ALL DENY
try inserting an except to your host here
