I am trying to install httpd-2.0.48 on my cygwin/XP and I am getting a never
seen (at least to me) error message:

r. I still can see the funny sequence of "â^'" in each man page.

I was studying man pages more deeply in Cygwin and I can not solve a problem
involving strange (format ?) characters. As an example, here is a part of "man

Using Cygwin 1.3.22 on XP, bash 2.05b, I have my echo disappearing after using
a tool like man, vim, perl -MCPAN -e "shell", mc and others.
As I can notice, any tool which has some output in color messes with the bash
shell after exiting from that tool. I can no longer see what is type
