well, I've allso changed permissions for user "eran" and it still doesnt
work - I must mention that in the past I didnt have to change
permissions or do anything special for making it work and it did work
for me.
I suspect that something during istallation has changed that mak
some reason I cant and the error I get is:
$ /etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd start
Starting xinetd: [ OK ]
touch: cannot touch `/var/lock/subsys/xinetd': Permission denied
$ ls -la /var/lock/
total 0
drwxr-xr-x+ 3 SYSTEM root 0 Oct 12 20:05 .
drwxrwx---+ 9
while using octave on cygwin, i can't use "imread" command.
it complains it can't open file: c:\cygwin\tmp/oct-22fb00.0
i think the problem comes becuse of the "\" or "/" direction.
tmpnam() gives: c:\cygwin\tmp/oct-22fb00.0
any sugestions?
thanks,
Hi.
It seems that there's a problem to build the dada engine
(http://dev.null.org/dadaengine)
under cygwin. did anyone manage to do it?
Eran.

Greetings everyone.
I have a project in Visual Studio .NET, which I want to compile using the
CYGWIN compiler tools, instead of the Microsoft C compiler. I couldn't
figure how to do so.
I'd appreciate any ideas.
Thanks in advance,
Eran.
