Hello,
I'm aware this question has been asked before (I googled), but found no
satisfactory answer. I've just compiled a Unix library (to *.a) in
Cygwin and I would like to convert it into a .lib file that I can link
with the Visual Studio toolchain.
Thanks,

First, I've read about the _socket problem in cygwin and am assuming
that in the latest python 2.5.2 or cygwin this problem has been
solved? I can import _socket just fine in the intereactive
interpreter in cygwin; the problem is embedding python into C code.

Hi,
I have searched through the main mailing list archives and not come up
with anything that seems even partially relevant except perhaps a recent

RXVT is a VT102 terminal emulator for both X and Windows.
This is a bug fix and feature enhancement release.

This release is specific for cygwin-1.7. There are a few minor
differences the between this package and the simultaneously-

This will most likely be the final rxvt update for the cygwin-1.5
distribution; future development will continue with rxvt-20090409-21

a month ago I ran cygwin setup to update my version to the latest. I did

It looks like somehow between versions 0.34-2 and 0.37-1, antiword managed
to grow
Hi all,
I found a strange behaviour with cygcheck, regarding the listing of
DLL dependencies.
Please take a look at the following:
~ # uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.2 vfpt-itsecvmt2 1.7.0(0.210/5/3) 2009-04-14 17:25 i686 Cygwin
~ # cygcheck /bin/ash.exe
C:\cygwin\bin\ash.exe
C:\cygwin\bin\cygwin1.dll
I found that the packaged antiword 0.37-1 just returns an empty line,

Regressing to version 0.34-2 solves the problem and it then works as
expected.
I have installed Cygwin 1.5.25-15 from the net with the default install
apart from the following additional packa
