I am wondering whether there is a "losetup" utility inside cygwin so
that I can simulate a .img file to a loopback block device inside
cygwin...
Any comments are welcome!

Cygwin package of Squid is outdated and only 2.6 version package is
availabe. It would be nice if 3.0 were too.
It seems that cygwin ed doesn't support scripting, i.e. executing commands
from stdin. Again, it would be nice if it did.

I've made a new version of flex available for downloading. This updates
the package to the latest version available from sourceforge. flex
compiles out of the box and the program seems to pass its test suite. The
NEWS files is included below.

OK, this is strange. After a recent update, cygwing informed me that
'tr' was missing. So, I reinstalled coreutils - several times. Each
time, 'tr' is there the first time I start a shell. The next shell I
start, it's missing again.
Is this a know problem or is my hard drive haunted?

Nope, vim will happily preserve the line-ending convention of the
