G'day, I've googled around, searched the list archives, and not found anything quite like what I'm experiencing. Whenever I install onto a samba share (ie P:/cygwin instead of C:/cygwin), the postinstall scripts don't run. There is no indication of any errors. The most obvious symptom is the cygw

Larry, Thanks for your reply. C:\cygwin\download has always been the one used for Setup on my system, and it only created havoc when I re-installed base and library packages. It was supposed to be on the place "to store the installation files" that Setup downloads. Do suggest I should re-instal
