Like some other users, I have been frustrated by the dependence of cygwin
applications on an Internet connection that is only used so that the PC can
talk to itself. As a dial-up user, this is most inconvenient.

Hi,

I've just updated the version of OpenSSH to 3.7.1p2-2.
This release is binary-wise the same as 3.7.1p2-1. The changes are
only in the scripts ssh-host-config and ssh-user-config and in the
README file /usr/share/doc/Cygwin/openssh.README.
PLEASE NOTE, that you need administrator privileges to in

I've been scouring the internet for a resolution to this problem and
have yet to find how this was solved. I've been working on this for a
week, and I'm not any closer to solving it. Thanks in advance for taking
your time to help solve my problem.

The question of cygwin, or something like it
on windows.net, or whatever you want to call it,
is not such a stupid question. It might be a stupid

for an off-topic discussion, if I also congratulate the

This doesn't appear to be correct behaviour on most other UNIX
platforms. On most platforms the opendir fails and sets an errno that
resolves to "Permission denied". This can be illustrated with the
following short script:

Hello Cédric,
seems to be a problem with this symbol in the postgresql library libpq.
I don't know the postgresql code, so lets ask the maintainer (therefore
the subject change). Jason? Any ideas?
