@mpt: Thanks for the move. I hope compiz devs can shed some light.

thought it somehow weighted the "importance" of a bug as derived from
visitor attention/frequency, comment activity, and so forth, so that

Well, the original description mentions Nautilus only as one possibility "(say
Nautilus)". Additionally, comments #10, #11, #25, #26, #42, #51 mention other
apps than Nautilus. So I still disagree about the

@vanvugt: Are you sure this is a duplicate of #66? I disagree,
because it affects not only nautilus, but #66 is restricted to

Today, I got that error even while using Unity2D, so comment #5 has to
be disregarded. :-(
Can someone bump the importance? - Now that avoiding this by switching
to unity2d is impossible, this makes working basically impossible after
an undetermined time in the session.

Another data point: After a workday of using Unity2D instead of Unity, I

I think I'm affectd by the same bug. I foud ou that when the bug is triggered,
I get a message in the syslog about
irq 11: nobody cared. tis only ever happns whnthe bug is triggered
You gota similar thing in curentDmesg, I sspect this could be related to the
bug trigger:

I can reproduce both scenarios, and confirm Nikolaus' observed behaviour

OK, this bug is definitely back. Reproduction method as in OP, only it's not

back to firefox, and it breaks.

Is this bug back?
Since about two weeks, from time to time, I get weird issues with displaced
windows when restoring or switching to thunderbird or firefox via clicking the
launcher. Symptoms are just like in this bug. I haven't found a reproducible
triggering sequence yet, though.

hm, I have found another application with visibility issues with the new patch.
Rainlendar (a desktop calendar software, rainlendar.net) now has an invisible

I think this patch has some unintended consequences.

Have tested a bit, cannot produce the bug as per the OP anymore. Also,
the most annoying trigger mode for me (call up thunderbird from the

encountered the bug anyhow else so far.

What's the status of this? It is most definitely not fixed, since I can
reproduce it with the instructions in the description. It's still a very
annoying bug! What can we do to speed things up? I want to see this
fixed in Oneiric (optimally, even before then).
