Was wondering if there is any progress on this? I created a build job on
jenkins for Hive https://builds.apache.org/job/Hive-trunk-hadoop1/ which is
currently failing because of HADOOP-8880. It will be useful to have 1.1.2
out as that will help us in having Hive builds going.

That problem is at Hive end. You can try out the patch at
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE-2631 to unblock your testing.
