Ok finally! Took some hints from here n there (
http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/pyOJPE93Zmv5nfIZkPYI) and I figured
that the conf/ directory need to be added to the CLASSPATH.
Once added, the right fs.default.name is eventually used in the
Configuration.
