When I look at patches uploaded to jiras, from time to time I notice that
different revisions of the patch is uploaded with the same patch file name,
some time for quite a few times. It's confusing which is which.
I'd suggest that as a guideline, we do the following when uploading a patch:
I announced the release yesterday on general@. To limit the visibility of
the vulnerability, the vote was done on security@ instead of dev lists.
To post the bits, I pushed them through the svn repo - is this the
distribution system you are mentioning? I removed 2.5.0 and 2.5.1 too.

I know there was work underway to ship hadoop 2.5.2, but has it actually
been released? I can't seem to find any vote details in my mail, but we
have the aritfacts on maven and the binaries in the archives dir:
