I met some problems when I was building Hadoop 1.0 from Hadoop SVN
branch-1.0
1) When I compile contrib, it shows to me eclipse-plugin can not be
compiled. Then I disable the whole contrib part and I met the second
problem:
2) java5.home and forrest.home. I send the variable -Djava5

In Nexus, it appears necessary to explicitly "drop" the previous release
candidate before it will show a newer one. I have now done so, and the
artifacts at
https://repository.apache.org/content/groups/staging/org/apache/hadoop/hadoop
Try the following maven version: 1.0.0rc3
Those artifacts are available.

Pulled the RC into Bigtop build and constructed a stack with Hadoop 1.0,
HBase 0.92 RC1 and Zookeeper
