Hi
I’m new owner of Sapphire (formally Kaylarah capt. Gary, and it’s a great boat)
Does anyone have experience replacing the bow chocks on a 37/40, the current
setup does not allow for easy on / off of mooring ride.
Thanks

Most likely keel bolt threads corroded. Only way they could find good threads
is by using washers. Surprised they didn’t suggest a more complete repair.

Hi
I’m replacing the motor mounts C&C 37+, Yanmar 3HM35F motor.
Removed the two back mounts, looks like they are held in by machine bolts into
bed. The front two bolts holding each mount were stripped.
Question, anyone else came across this? thoughts on solution to re-fasten/bed
the bolts.

The bolts came finally came out with pressure and power impact. It doesn’t
appear to be wood under the fiberglass.
My plan is try to drill out see if I can re-tap or May look to cut out and back
the stringer and glass afterwards.

Check your filters as well, especially the one on the motor. If crud is in
there and moving around it will restrict fuel flow when the boat heals

It’s the raw water side, I have done this by disconnecting each end of the heat

Hi
A few things:
1. Monitor bilges, get a reading and continue to monitor.
2. Pull floor boards check back of the keel and sump, this is where structural
damage will most likely show up. Check for cracks and any broken fiberglass

I’m replacing the rod, turn buckles and furler on Sapphire 37+ this season,
only because of piece of mind.
The boat is a 1990 with 34 year old rigging always made me think, when I’m
racing in 25kts of breeze hammering up hill.

Hi,
Anyone have experience removing the chainplates? Are the bolts accessible or
glassed in? Boat is a C&C 37+
As part of the rigging replacement, corrosion was found on the chainplate where
the turn buckle attaches.

On a C&C 37+ the cost is 10k, with new turn buckles and labor. I’m also going to replace the furler, will be in for around 5k more all said and done. I don’t do this every year and worth the piece of mind.-RobSent from my iPhoneOn Dec 24, 2024, at 3:42 PM, Joel Aronson via CnC-List wrote:Riggin
