A separate shower stall was an option on the Landfall 38. Not many of them
have it.

Does any 37+ owner with a Universal M35 and maxprop feathering three blade
know their prop pitch? Mine is set at 22 degrees but last year I could not
get beyond 5.5 knots. PYI manual specs that pitch. It looks entirely too
flat to me. Help?!?

What's your HP and gear ratio?

What is your RPM?
If the pitch is too flat (low), it is like being stuck in 2nd gear. You
will accelerate well and have plenty of reserve to punch through chop,
but redline RPM will give you some speed lower than hull speed.
If the pitch is a little too coarse (high), you will hit hullspeed
The Shower Stall in the 37+ (37/40) makes an excellent hanging wet locker
for those wet stormy days. As the heads are immediately to the left at the
bottom of the companionway (so midships), you can duck in there as soon as
you come below, shed everything wet while in the heads (which are roomy an
I were going to replace my dodger, I would use this method for a hard
dodger that emulates a canvas version but with better transparency:

Listers,
A friend just sent me an ad for a battery-operated fuel pump for transferring
fuel from a jerry can to the Enterprise’s fuel tank.
Currently, I’m pouring from the jerry can directly into the tank, but there is
always some spillage and cleanup.
This looks like a nifty solution, but I
I remove used lube oil from my engine with an impeller pump connected to my
battery powered hand drill. Still a mess to clean up the hoses afterward.
But you gave me an idea And clean up of diesel fuel in the hoses should be
easier. I filter all fuel going into my tank from the jerry can and that

Mike,
I was #3 launched and you still have your cover frame on. What going on
A simple siphon pump can easily empty a fuel can into the diesel tank with no
av/dc power required. It may take a while depending on the tubing diameter.
A priming style bulb can be used to get it going—unless you like the taste of
diesel fuel and start it by ‘mouth’ or otherwise get the tubing f
I've never used this but it looks interesting:

Tom,
I'm in the midst of working thru this as well. It looks like cast acryllic
Plexi, vhb tape, and Dow Corning 795 us the ticket.
This is a pretty good you tube on it.

Edd,
I use a battery operated pump that fits in a 5 gallon can to fill my
Kubota tractor and my kerosene heater. We also used it on Glenn
Gambel's C&C 36 when he had a temporary tank installed while motoring
across Lake Michigan to get to Milwaukee for a Queens Cup Race. We

Mike, you have to come up with something better than that.

Same for us, best part is with the portable tank on the cockpit floor you never
over fill. I use a universal fuel line with a bulb to start . works great!

I’ve been using a drill pump for over 10 years. Works great. Can also
transfer while moving. Also sucks all but about a tsp. from the jerry can.

Edd,
I've been using this, these things are awesome. There's a bronze ball
inside the end that goes into the can, shake it a few times and it
starts to flow, almost faster than you could pour it out.

Neil,
Many people, esp. cruising type talk about this shaker siphon. Does it really
work that well?

Shakers work awesome! Still gonna have residual in the hose which will
have lasting potential to make a mess.
