In the U.S, at least, boats can have a y valve that discharges overboard in the Great Lakes, but the must be shut off and locked off either using a lock or zip tie.  I know this because in Chicago we used to have to have annual inspections (which in our old 27MKIII showed we had no Y valve at al

I tied in my head sink drain to head via a T. Close the head drain seacock and run water. Fresh water flush and no vented loop needed. Kept plumbing run for salt water flush for backup but normally the seacock is closed as well as the y valve. Sent from my Android. Please forgive typos. Than
