Yep…took a long time to get over painting over the teak factor. But Corsair
has teak EVERYWHERE.Even the galley countertops. They got a Formica paint.
A little strategically painted white goes a long way to brightening up the
cave. Never looked back.

Dave, I would like to see some photos of your paint; I would interested in
where you decided to use paint, and where you kept the teak...thanks

True, but sometimes it takes a while to reef, or you decide to just stick
it out to get around the next point where the wind will ease. We're usually
well over 7 knots when the rail is buried... :)

Hello Edd...no vented loop on my 1990 37+. I checked and can see the waste
hose enter the holding tank at the top of the tank. Have not had
issues...yet! If you choose to do that, let me know how you fit in into
the space there!
I did change out the entire pump assembly on a head rebuild last y
Chuck,
Thanks. I’m not as worried about the waste side as the Y-Valve is pretty high.
The raw water intake is a concern when heeled, so I’m wondering if I should add
hose and a loop between the “walls” of the head cabinets.
All the best,
Edd

My problem is the sink drain. You can't put a vented loop in a sink drain,
but when the boat is healed over, the sink is below the water line and
overflows. Any solutions?

Hi Gary
The sink in the 35-3 is like that as well, I put a valve in the drain
line just below the sink - have to open the cupboard to get at it, no
big deal. We don't use the sink in there much though, just at anchor
usually.

Hi Graham,
Actually that is what I did as well. I was hoping for a more
elegant/automatic solution.
Thank,

Gary,
Maybe a check valve?

Hi Edd,
That might work, but many check valves have a spring in them, and I'm
not sure a drain will have enough head pressure to open it when
intentionally draining the sink.

Edd...I had to disconnect and take the Y-valve out. As I understand it,
you cannot have overboard discharge in the great lakes. Perhaps the PO of
my boat did some earlier surgery...

My 37+ has a vented loop behind the vanity. I converted the port side water
tank to holding for the Great Lakes. I installed a check valve in the aft sink
but shut off the v birth sink when sailing using a 1/4 turn valve in the drain.
It’s pretty easy to bury the rail in a blow. I try to reduce

I installed a check valve in the sink drain. Not a duck style but rather a
flap style. It works pretty well but over time water can still eventually
get by. The wife is pretty astute about closing the sink drain sea cock
before getting underway for the day which prevents the backup all together.
