I was looking through Sail magazine this morning and noticed several boats with
windows in the topside hull. It seems to be a growing trend. My general sense
of windows is that at some point in their lifetime, they will begin leaking so
windows that will be underwater periodically would concer
Would appreciate some help in finding out how to find the C & C Facebook
Group since a couple of searches in FB have led me nowhere. Thanks,

My thought on this is, unless they have found a way for plexiglass ( I use this
term loosely) to become one with the fiberglass. It will leak. Doug Mountjoy Sv

I appreciate windows in hulls that were designed for it. I spent some time on a
Beneteau that had them tastefully throughout and anyplace you could sit, there
was a nice window placed so you could see out and see the horizon. The glass on
this particular 55' Sense design looked like 3/4" thick a

Actually there are two C&C owner groups on Facebook.
C&C Sailboat Owners is newer, I think, and mostly in English.
C&C Yacht is mostly in French and it appears the majority of the members are
Canadian. Kelly Cuthbertson has been posting a lot of C&C history and photos

Dennis;
I’m not sure how this date reset will impact our chart plotters, but I notice
all the articles seem to focus on problems with GPS in cars. And some say that
there should be little or no problem with the apps on phones and tablets that
rely on GPS.

Hi Charlie,
In answer to your questions:
Yes, keel bolts can be tightened while the boat is in the water or on a cradle.
Intuitively, many have suggested that the boat needs to be on a cradle with
the keel supported so the keel is not "hanging". However, a calculation of
loads and forces i
Regarding bolt torque and corresponding bolt pretension: there seems to be some
misunderstanding about bolt torque. Worries about stripping threads when boat
is in the water, thinking about lifting the keel up, must do it on the hard,
etc.
Just as an example for the sake of discussion, let's
There are quite a few C&C related Facebook groups. Some have been mentioned
recently in previous posts. Here are a couple of more groups specifically
dedicated to individual models like the "C&C 110 Owners" and the "C&C 99 Class
Association."

I would have to agree with Chuck that it probably isn't a good fit for our
boats, but I do like them and they are kind of cool. It is slick to watch the
green water flowing by.
Some caveats I can think of are compromising the structure of the hull, after
all we are bending these boats like a b
I think windows in the hull are ugly. But then so are the boats they come
in. Used to be that for a sailboat to be seaworthy for an ocean crossing,
they were required to carry hard covers for the coach roof windows in case
of breakage. If you want windows buy a Buick by the sea.

I removed for inspection the exhaust mixing elbow on my Yanmar 3YM20. I
was glad I did. It was heavily corroded on the inside and the iron was
extensively deteriorated. The engine is 9 years old and runs in cold, salt
water.
