butyl tapes were created equal).

I'd do that. Buy a tube and move everything.
With the dent so close to the end, you could cut it off and sell the
remainder on eBay.

This reminds me of when I had some bottom fairing done at a local yard.
The guy told me, in all seriousness, that when he finished, the boat would
be 1 to 2 knots faster. I don't use that yard anymore.

I am sprucing up our 33-2 and am looking for input on the cove stripe and
diamond and star colours. I have two boot stripes, the bottom being bright red
and the upper a light blue. The imperial polishing compound has brought them up
nicely. The cove stripe is mylar and the same color as the boot

When I first joined C&C Yachts in 77, I think the coves and stars (arrows) were

later they put a gap in the cove so the boat name could be painted there. The
stars remained gold painted. Later on we offered the cove an

To remove tape, use a 3M Stripe Off Wheel. Essentially a big round gum
eraser that you put in a drill.

Hi Chris,
Good story.
One of the neat things about working at C&C in the "glory days" was having a
custom wood shop. Actually, we had 3. One at NOTL, one in Newport and one at
the custom shop in Oakville. Not sure if the plant in Keil, Germany had one or
not. The master woodworkers in those shop
Parts of the Mylar will peel off like masking tape. Other parts may require a
curved Exacto model knife to remove the tape. Try Goo Be Gone or 97% rubbing
alcohol from the drug store to get the sticky parts off. If all else fails,
Acetone, used carefully, will get it off.
Cheers,
Hank
Hank thanks for sharing that - it's awesome to hear from people who were there.

Hi Randy,
The cove stripes and stars were actually moulded in as part of the hull.
We had about 4 or 5 really true Master Boat Builders at C&C who knew every
detail of manufacturing yachts. Gert Tiel was one of those and a real gem.
Not to mention, one heck of a nice guy.

She is just sitting there without a boom, like a wounded bird. Who leaves a
boat like that? I wish I could rescue her.
OK, no boom, and probably nothing else much. If that's a genuine C&C 30
