Dan,
That's a great deal on a 25 w a trailer. Wish you many great sailing days in
the future.
Some advice: Make it a point to get your boat sailing as soon as possible, so
you can enjoy what she was designed for. So many project boats become eternal

HI Dan,
Welcome to the list, sure wish I had a trailer with my 25.
I’ve gone through what you are about to undertake, message me directly with
your questions and I’ll answer them as best as I can.
I’ve had mine since ’99 and re-built her up from a similar state and can give
you some hints
Fred,
My boat ran about $1500 for removal of paint down to the gelcoat. The surface
was “paint ready” after a good wipe down.

Joel,
A shim under the quadrant would be the best way to hold the rudder in place.
Depending on how close your rudder quadrant is to the rudder tube, it may not
drop much. I know access back there is horrible, but it is the best way to go.
Running a line under the rudder would be my secon
I don't think that "asking" price is out of line at all. I'm asking $250,000

$250K sounds reasonable, you have a newer diesel.

My retaining ring has pipe wrench marks on it too. I doubt a strap will do
the trick. Good luck!

Hey Dennis,
I don't think you'll get your price with that
broker. He already has a 1971 35 listed for
$35,000. And it comes with the classic Atomic 4 for power.
It's like he's living in the '80s.

I agree with Jim and the others regarding
Blanshard Rigging. He did my neighbour's gang
(including new furler) and the service looked substandard.
I had Serge, Mainstay rigging, do mine a bunch of
years ago and the service & price was top notch.

My rudder post was not threaded, so I ran a line under the rudder. As Jake
predicted, the rudder barely moved. Had to buy a pipe wrench to loosen the
ring. The bearing was not in bad shape, but I feel better having the new
one in place. The bonus was that it was much easier to tight
Hi Danny,
find the office of whoever is looking after Petre's mooring field. I
expect they have a diagram/map of the mooring field & numbers that
will narrow your search by quite a bit.
Or get to the closest Yacht Club, a friendly local member is often
your best resource for finding things.

I'll chime in on this as Bowline Yachts was the broker for my boat back when I
